Why You’ll Love This Margaritas To Go Recipe
To go margaritas are the perfect tequila cocktail to serve a crowd! While they are a great make-ahead drink for parties at home, we truly love this batch recipe for enjoying other places.
While I prefer to make margaritas one at a time if I’m enjoying them with just one other person, this recipe for margaritas is great when you want to serve multiple people at one time. Here are more great reasons why you’ll love this easy recipe using a store-bought mix as the base:
- The steps in this recipe are basically the same as making a single-serve margarita, except you’ll use a juice container instead of a cocktail shaker, and you’ll be making big batch margarita. It couldn’t be easier.
- These Juice container margaritas have a nice tequila flavor very similar to homemade margaritas — and you know how much we adore those! Trust me, these are delicious and refreshing.
- Feel free to make it sweeter (the way Suzy wants it) or try our variations below to give these on-the-go margaritas a fun twist.
- Each 52 fl oz Limeade juice container can easily contain 7 servings, so there’s enough to go around, especially if you bring several bottles with you. It’s so great for a crowd.

Ingredients
- Limeade
- Tequila
- Triple Sec
- Fresh Lime Juice
For this recipe, we used Simply Mixology Lime Margarita. We love its tangy and sweet flavors, making it a great base for this cocktail. Plus, we use the bottle to mix and store the big batch of margarita once it’s made. Feel free to use homemade limeade and any 52 fl oz bottle you have in your pantry if you prefer (with slight flavor difference).
We used Jose Cuervo Especial Silver when making to go margaritas. It has a smooth and crisp taste with great agave flavors. Feel free to use your preferred brand of Blanco tequila or any tequila that you have in your bar for making this recipe. Try it with Reposado if you prefer.
As always, Triple Sec gives our margarita a vibrantly sweet orange flavor that goes so well with agave and lime. You can use Cointreau or other orange liqueurs if you like. Also, you can use orange juice if you want to serve amazing margaritas with lower alcohol content.
Lastly, we added fresh lime juice to this recipe. Simply Mixology Lime Margarita already has great lime flavors, but the addition of natural lime juice just brightens up this cocktail and makes it way more refreshing. Feel free to skip it if you’re pressed for time or can’t find enough limes.
