Tips

  • To make the best fruity Cinco de Mayo drinks, you can use either fresh or frozen fruits as an ingredient. You can use bottled juices if you can’t find them in your store. This works well, especially if you’re making pineapple or orange margaritas for a margarita party.
  • If you like a spicier margarita, you can either add a few slices of jalapeño and muddle them in the drink or sprinkle some chili powder on the sugar rim of your margarita glass.
  • To make frosty, frozen margaritas, put all the ingredients plus ice cubes in a blender until they’re slushy, then serve. They’re super refreshing and enjoyable, especially on hot days!
  • Get creative with your margarita glasses for extra visual appeal. Apart from the classic look, we also love stemless margarita glasses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do people drink on Cinco de Mayo?

Many consider May 5 a late-spring drinking holiday. It’s a way for folks to celebrate Mexican-American culture by throwing a Mexican fiesta while enjoying Mexican food and drinks, especially margaritas.

What is the best liquor to use in margaritas?

Tequila is undoubtedly the best liquor for making margaritas. We love using blanco tequila in our margarita recipes!

However, if you don’t like the taste of tequila, you can put a different twist on your cocktails by swapping vodka or any other type of spirits you have instead.

How do I adjust the sweetness of my drinks?

If you’re watching your sugar intake but still love to sip cocktails, adjusting the amount of sweeteners you use to make your margarita is a good tip.

You can lessen the amount of agave syrup or simple syrup you put in, or better yet, take out the orange liqueur or triple sec if you’re concerned about sugar intake. But do note that it can change the taste of the margarita.
